Monday 1/20/20- MLK holiday

Friday 1/24/20- Our class will be presenting our CHAMPS assembly on the stage in the cafeteria! It starts at 8:00 and will end around 8:30. Parents are more than welcome to come. They will have chairs set out for you to sit in.  Please help your child work on their lines so they will feel as comfortable as possible.

Welcome Back! I can’t wait to see all my sweet kinders today!   I hope that you all had a blessed Christmas and are ready to kick off the last half of kindergarten.  Here is what we are doing this week:

We  will be reviewing CHAMPS procedures and school rules this week to make sure we start off on the right foot.

Sight Words: Reviewing past sight words.  New sight words: said, here

Shared Reading: Coming Around the Mountain  (we will work on comprehension, sight words, punctuation, and contractions)

Interactive Writing: The Snowman and The Girl and the Bicycle  Essential Question: How does the author tell a story using pictures instead of words?

Reading Mini Lessons: We will be reading Snowmen at Night , Snow Globe Family, and The Snowy Day. We will work on retelling and making predictions.

Interactive Writing: We will draw a snowman and label/write sentences.

Math: Number Talks: What does not belong?

We are focusing on addition problems and we will introduce missing addends in addition problems.

Writer’s Workshop: Review Writing Time Expectations. We will begin writer’s checklists.

Social Studies/Science: Start researching animals.

It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas!  I can’t believe it! We have some fun activities going on this week!


Tuesday December 17th- Pajama Day!

Friday: This is our class Christmas party! If you are able to help set up it starts at 8:30. Our party will be from 9:00-10:00! I hope to see you all there!

Our classroom party is scheduled for December 20th from 9-10.  Set up will be at 8:30! A couple of quick reminders:

Tomorrow is Pajama Day, Thursday is dress like your favorite book character, and this Friday is wear maroon and white!

Don’t forget this Friday is our student led conferences. You will need to come in at the bottom at the Primary Office.  The primary doors will be open and you will come and sign in. Please be on time. We only have 15 minutes for each conference and I will try to stay as punctual as possible! Thank you and see you on Friday.

This Thursday we will plant our pumpkin seeds.  We will go and find our pumpkins next Monday!
